Synopsis
When a traffic accident lands Owen in the hospital for a few days even his ironic wit cannot cushion him from the annoying life questions he always tries to avoid. Boredom and fear drive him to read the Bible, the only book available in the mysteriously desolate and run down hospital day room. Reading about Jesus begins a comic and heartfelt journey of transformation. As his imagination brings to life the characters that have been impacted by an encounter with Jesus, his perceptions of God and himself are challenged. As his mask of humor falls, the pain of his past is revealed and brought into the light of the cross. It becomes clear that this is no casual reading of a book, but an appointment with God Himself. As Owen becomes gripped by the truth he realizes that he is being confronted by life’s most important choice, and this is his last chance to decide.
